Jewish U is the place for you to learn more about your heritage and to further your understanding of core values in classes given by Rabbi Shmuli and other members of the Chabad community.

What is Jewish U?

Jewish U is a supplemental Jewish education program run by Chabad. It offers a variety of classes centered around Judaism but they can be about anything.

Classes are 4 weeks long (unless otherwise specified) and offers 4 Jewish U credit per class that can be redeemed for cash, trips or Judaica.

You can take as many or as few classes as you wish. The only requirements are that you are Jewish and a Pitt Student.

Below is a list of teachers and classes that are being taught.

  • Sunday- Davening Class (Learn how to pray) 10:15 to 11:15 AM

    Monday: Sinai Scholars 12:30-1:30 PM and Happiness Factor from 3-4 PM

    Wednesday: How Success thinks 1:15-2:15 PM and HalachaU 3:30-5 PM

    Thursday: Sinai Scholars 12:30-1:30 PM, Pizza, and Parsha uncovered 2 pm- 3 pm, and Tipsy Torah 8:30-9:30 PM

  • Sunday: Practical Kabbalah 8:30-9:30 PM

  • Tuesday: Twersky Scholars (Dinner Included) 7 PM

  • Monday: Class at the Kollel in Squirrel Hill 7:45 - 9 PM, transportation is provided

  • Monday: 12:30 - 1:30 PM

    Thursday: 12:30 - 1:30 PM

    This course is more in-depth and 8 weeks long compared to the 4 of a Jewish U course. As such it offers a larger reward .
